Youth Camp July 5-26 2009
During last years winter retreat, a group of young margiis decided to participate in a work camp to help Ananda Kanan with much-needed musclepower. A few target projects for this camp were: building a solar hot water heater and building a storage shed. Sudarshan lead an inspiring workshop to build the water heater and the shed at the same time. Both were completed by an enthusiastic and dedicated crew of young workers.
Solar Hot Water Workshop May 2010
A hands-on workshop to build a working solar hot water heater from standard materials will be led by Sudarshan, a retired electrical engineering professor from Southern Illinois University. The workshop is open to the public. To register, call 417 469 4130.
Storage Building
Ananda Kanan is building a small storage building to keep tools and some emergency supplies, etc. The first section was completed by the youth group after the 2009 summer retreat. We will continue this project in the coming years
Re-siding the Dharmacakra Hall
We have finished re-siding the DC hall, Babas Quarters, and both well houses. We are making plans to do the same with the remaining buildings in 2010-onward.
